I really love the posters you've chosen to go by -- they are all either heavily image based or heavily text based. And you also have a lot of posters that create form using just shapes or text to build them, which is also a great approach. I can see all of these elements in your draft. I feel like you could push it so that the photograph of yourself is all made up of shapes or words. I think the horizontal type on the side is effective, but maybe it can interact with your image a bit more, like create the outline of your photograph on that side. Also not sure if you're sold on that photograph of yourself but when I see that picture, I don't necessarily think: "designer". Color scheme is really nice. I don't think you need that white drop shadow on the words. I also really like your logo of your name.. I really feel like it suits you haha.
I love those Pixar posters you put. They were an inspiration for me when I was trying to do my poster. That artist/designer is ERIC TAN. His work is amazing, Allie. You should check out his blog, all his poster work is mad inspirational.
I've loved Eric Tan for forever! Just saying i"m a huge Disney/Pixar fan is an understatement. I love what he does with the posters, everything from colors to texture to layout, just everything!
