Ch. 5 Leo S

Chapter 5

I liked most of the ads that were in the section of “Visual Metaphor” because I think an ad should have minimal text. I think its effective when the image can almost speak for itself. So I chose the Ayotte ad with drum stick marks on ordinary objects such as Yellow Pages and a mouse pad. I think the images were ordinary, inexpensive, but extremely effective.

So to demonstrate an advertisement in a similar company, I found an image for a guitar company that targeted a young demographic. The ad works because again it is a plain and simple image, the type is easy to read, the font works well with what they are are selling as well as the desired purchaser. Everything about the ad just feels right and it has a clear audience. I think overall it is a great campaign and could be altered to be used in print, web, banner, and lots of other media.
